Our final project in 2019 was to create a self-cover publication in tribute to a world-famous designer. The designer that I was allocated was Michael Bierut - who is known as one of the most renowned names in all of current day graphic design. Our aim was to design, print and bind 3 identical copies of this publication.
Michael Bierut is known for his heavily type-based design work. The minimal aesthetic, stark contrasts of colour and size, the strict modular grid and the overall colour palette of my publication are all direct derivatives from his most famous works.
This project had to contain a table of contents, an introduction written by us, a timeline spread of the designer’s life, a feature article/interview, a typographic lock-up of a quote and a reference list.
